LSEG adds to executive board

London Stock Exchange Group has appointed Lex Hoogduin and David Nish as non-executive director and independent non-executive director to its board, respectively, with immediate effect.

Hoogduin is chairman of the LCH.Clearnet Group, and before this he was executive director at De Nederlandsche Bank, where he worked on economic policy and research, financial stability, financial markets, and payment, clearing and settlement systems.

He has also held various economic advisory positions, including chief economist at Robeco, managing director of IRIS research institute and advisor to the president of the European Central Bank.

David Nish was CEO of Standard Life PLC from 2010 to September 2015, and has served as a group finance director at Scottish Power and as a partner at Price Waterhouse.

He is currently also a non-executive director of the UK Green Investment Bank and from January 2016 he will be a non-executive director of Vodafone Group.

Donald Brydon, chairman of London Stock Exchange Group, said: “I am delighted to welcome Hoogduin and Nish to the group board. Both bring additional financial and capital markets experience to the board, which will be of great value to the group as we continue to strengthen our position as a leading, global markets infrastructure provider.”
